Before...
...and after!
It's hard to believe, but it was literally there one day and gone the next! The fire started during the night through a faulty wire leading from the battery to the electric pump.
By the morning there was next to nothing left.
So it's a sad farewell to our beautiful fishing boat, but we have lots of great memories of the times we spent cruising the Andaman on her.
And the good news is, we have found a beautiful new long tail to replace her. We found it right up in Ranong barely used since the Tsunami when she was donated to the previous owner. At 25 ribs, it will be big enough to do our longer trips - and quite a bit faster! It will also be able to cater for larger groups.
Here are some pictures of the caulking process underway and we'll take some more once she's ready to launch:
