September Itinerary - Meet the Mahers

Welcome to Yvonne, Russell, Lauren and Georgia from the Sunshine Coast of Australia. Together with the family we put together a fantastic itinerary taking in all the highlights of Krabi by sea and land.

Day 1: Thai cooking class and Elephant riding

After arriving in Krabi in the dark and wet, the next morning Bang Air picked up the family bright and early to visit the morning markets in Krabi town to learn all about buying the ingredients they would need for their cooking class.

Breakfast was a selection of Thai sweets and breakfast foods at the market, before returning to Air's home in the village of Na Tai, where his wife, Cha, was waiting to start the cooking instruction.

During the morning, the Mahers - under expert guidance - prepared and consumed a variety of dishes including Green curry, Massaman curry, Pad Thai Goong, Tom Yum Seafood and Sweet and Sour squid.

There was time for a quick rest and change of clothes before going out to Tham Sra Geaw with Sun to ride elephants and explore the cave there. Although the weather was a bit damp, the elephants, and the Mahers, were undaunted...

Day 2: Hong Island Trip
Unfortunately, this trip had to be canceled due to storm warnings from the Port Authority, but seeing as Sun had already cooked up a feast for lunch, we had an impromptu picnic at home.

Today the weather is fine and clear, so it's off to explore the islands of Krabi including Bamboo, Phi Phi and Koh Yao Noi.

Look for an update at the end of the week when Sun returns with new pictures of the great sea adventure!
